Watercolour is my medium, I paint from life, outdoors, in the moment, en plein air! Sunlight and colour inspire me!

Beach party at Barricane
After a blissful weekend of hot sun and fun little waves in North Devon, I found an hour to do a little painting. Blissed our and exhausted this one stayed as loose as my arms after a 4 hour surf!
Hi Scotty! Thanks for getting in touch on my blog, I have had a quick look at your work (not long enough yet)! I really like what you are doing, especially the fact you seem to mostly work 'en plein air' (outdoors to non arty readers- why do we insist on these French terms in Art) This latest one has a nice feel to it. You expressed an interest in the way I work, I do have a very low priced kindle ebook on amazon, for kindle color devices or any phone with the kindle app. Just search for 'introduction to loose watercolor'. Yes I caved in and spelt it the American way! Also if it is not against your method of working, I started a free social site for artists some years ago, it now has over 4k members. http://paintmyphoto.ning.com/ It is where photographers share photos and allow artists to paint from them. It has become quite popular, there is a loose watercolor group on there run by friends I have made online, it may appeal to you. ...and I have a youtube channel I really need to do more with, some tutorials on there going back a ways, some of my methods have changed.https://www.youtube.com/user/Roytheartist. Have a great time in your painting, always good to connect with a kindred spirit.
